Lenteng Agung Climate-Smart Village Ready to Succeed Asian Para Games

Climate-Smart Village (Kampung Iklim) at RW 09 Lenteng Agung Urban Village, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta is ready to succeed Asian Para Games 2018 by arranging and beautifying its village.

According to Lenteng Agung Urban Village Head, Satia, his side needs to do some preparations such as arranging the village, preparing land for vegetable nurseries, decorating houses yards with plants, and having IPAL that meets the quality standards in order to succeed Asian Para Games event.

"We do these things to succeed Asian Para Games with hope that our Climate-Smart Village can be one of environment tour alternatives for Asian Para Games athletes, delegations, officials and foreign tourists," he stated, Tuesday (9/25).

Besides, his side also has waste bank and fertilizer manufacturing site. By that way, residents can obtain some money by selling non-organic waste and use it to buy products in their local cooperative. Collected non-organic waste will be utilized to make useful things such as bag, pencil case, motorcycle sheeting, and others then sold it in cooperative.

Meanwhile, the organic waste will be transported to South Jakarta Environment Sub-dept. to make fertilizer. Later on, this fertilizer will be given to residents for their plants.

Moreover, residents also utilize lands on Ciliwung Riverbank to make parks with various themes and use recycle used goods, such as Soang Park and Gajah Park.
